Where is each component located?

• Rollers run in the side rails. Dimensions (e.g., 11 mm shaft, 2" wheel) must match the bracket and rail.
• Roller holders are located on the side of the panel and guide the rollers; top roller holders or double rollers are used at the top (lintel/arch).
• Side hinges connect the panel and side edge; Fingersafe models (ST3V/ST9V/ST1V) protect against pinch points.
• Central hinges connect the panels; traditional and finger-protection versions are available.

Typical combinations (practical)

• Hörmann door, standard guide: 11 mm/2" short roller + roller holder (galvanized or type S) + side hinge (52 mm) + center hinge + top roller holder L/R ( see Hörmann table ).
• Crawford/ASSA ABLOY: Side hinge (with roller holder if necessary) + tandem roller or roller 11 mm 2" + top roller holder 250 kg ( Crawford table ).
• Finger protection panels (ST3V/ST9V/ST1V): ConDoor Fingersafe side hinges (depending on model) + matching center hinges (ST3V/ST9V) + tandem or single rollers ( ConDoor ).

FAQ – Rollers, brackets & hinges on sectional doors

What is the difference between a side hinge and a center hinge?
Side hinges are located on the door leaf side and guide the rollers. Center hinges connect the panels together in the middle.

When do I need a finger-safe hinge?
For modern finger protection panels (e.g., ST3V/ST9V/ST1V). These hinges prevent pinch points between the panels.

How do I recognize the right caster?
Important factors include shaft diameter (e.g. 10/11/12 mm), shaft length/short/long, wheel diameter (inches), and whether a tandem is required.

Can I combine across manufacturers?
Yes, if the dimensions/hole patterns match. Examples: ConDoor fingerprint safe with EPCO/Tecsedo panels; IDD holder as a replacement for Hörmann.
