Sealing door gaps made easy – how to keep out cold, rodents & drafts
Magnetic, cuttable, weatherproof: With the right door gap seals, you can stop drafts in minutes – without drilling.
Why seal? Energy, comfort & hygiene
Door gaps act like small, permanent windows. They let in cold, dust, moisture – and unfortunately, mice – into the building. A suitable magnetic door seal reliably closes the bottom edge and is immediately noticeable in basements, workshops, warehouses, and side entrances.
- Warmer & quieter: less draft at feet & doors.
- Cleaner: less dust and moisture; rodent protection edge keeps "visitors" away.
- Efficient: quick to assemble, without drilling holes in the frame.
Where it fits: steel, wood, plastic & aluminum
Magnetic profiles adhere directly to steel doors . For wood, plastic, or aluminum, use an adapter strip as a magnetic base – then the seal will be just as secure and tight.
About the collection: Magnetically trimmable door gap seals with rodent protection edge
Quick selection: Products & Lengths
Door gap seal 1.0 m (magnetic)
For narrow doors or when significant trimming is required. Sealing range typically 4–55 mm.
Door gap seal 1.5 m (magnetic)
The standard length for exterior doors. Can be shortened, with rodent protection edge.
Adapter band SMB 100 (for wood/aluminum/plastic)
Self-adhesive, as a magnetic base for all non-magnetic door frames. Sold by the meter.
Side protection (rodent/forklift area)
Side protective plates protect seals from damage and rodent bites.
Measurement & selection in 5 minutes
- Length: Measure door width at the bottom edge → select 1.0 m / 1.5 m / 2.5 m (can be shortened on site).
- Gap size: check the largest dimension at several points (typically 4–55 mm can be covered).
- Substrate: Steel → directly magnetic; Wood/Aluminum/Plastic → apply adapter tape SMB 100.
- Environment: Humidity/Dust/Rodents? → Plan for rodent protection edges and side protection plates.
Quick selection: Side door/basement door usually 1.5 m; narrow doors 1.0 m; wide entrances 2.5 m.
Installation without drilling (DIY)
Preparation
- Clean the bottom edge/mounting surface (dry, grease-free).
- Cut to length, deburr edges.
- For wood/aluminum/plastic: Apply adapter tape SMB 100 and press firmly.
Assembly & Check
- Align the profile, attach it magnetically, and press down evenly.
- Close/open the door, check the seal, and fine-tune.
- Clean regularly – dust reduces adhesion and sealing effect.

FAQ
Does the seal fit every exterior door?
Directly onto steel. For wood, plastic & aluminium, use the adapter strip (SMB 100) as a magnetic base.
How do I find the right length?
Measure the door width, select 1.0 m / 1.5 m / 2.5 m and cut to size on site.
Does this help against mice and insects?
Yes, the rodent-proof edge reduces penetration. Side protection plates increase the service life.
Is the seal weatherproof (outside)?
Yes. Clean it regularly so that dirt and ice do not impair the sealing effect.
Suitable for fire doors?
No. Please observe fire safety regulations and do not install on fire doors.
