Selection matrix: Application → Solution
| Problem / Use | Recommended magnetic solution | Strengthen | Direct link |
|---|---|---|---|
| Floor gap on the sectional door | Floor sealing lip + side brush strips | compensates for unevenness, quiet running | Sectional Door Collection |
| High cycles, low friction on the film door | narrow brush profiles for roller and high-speed doors | low-rowing, durable | Rolling/high-speed door collection |
| Cold/dust during loading | Gap Seals (side/top) for bridges & docks | quickly retrofittable, energy-efficient | Loading technology collection |
| Draft under the steel door | Door gap seal (can be shortened), magnetic | Installation without drilling, residue-free | Steel Doors Collection |
| Side gap on sliding doors | Magnetic brush strips along the closing edge | smooth running, less dust & noise | Sliding door collection |
Gap seals for sectional doors
For sectional doors, we recommend the combination of soft bottom and brushing on the sides/top – all magnetically attached and adjustable at any time.
| position | profile | Advantages | To the collection |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gate bottom edge | Magnetic floor sealing lip | closes floor gaps, compensates for unevenness | Sectional doors |
| Lateral guidance | Magnetic brush strips | low friction, quiet running | Sectional doors |
| Lintel/ceiling | Magnetic lip or brush | prevents heat loss in the upper field | Sectional doors |
Consider safety: align the sealing layer with the closing edge safety device and light grid .
Gap seals for roller and high-speed doors
Low friction and a high cycle rate are essential here. Magnetic brush profiles ensure a secure seal and allow the door to run smoothly.
- narrow, low-friction brush strips for side gaps
- magnetic lintel seals for the upper end
To choose from: Rolling/high-speed door collection
Gap seals for loading technology (gap seals)
Gaps on the sides and top of the dock leveler consume energy and draw dust and moisture into the building. Magnetic gap seals are simply applied to steel surfaces—that's it.
- lateral wedges: close gaps between bridge lip and vehicle
- Head seals: seal the upper area of the lintel/portal
To choose from: Loading technology collection
Door gap seals for steel doors
The magnetic door gap seal is installed without tools, can be shortened, and is easy to remove for cleaning/service.
- perfect for basements, utility rooms and utility rooms
- on request with rodent protection insert
To choose from: Steel Doors Collection
Gap seals for sliding doors
Magnetic brush strips along the closing edge reduce drafts and dust while ensuring smooth door operation .
To choose from: Sliding door collection
How‑to: Measure, shorten, assemble
- Check gap: Measure height at rest; for gates, also test while running.
- Select a length of 1.0–2.5 m; allow a small margin. If necessary, shorten on-site (saw/scissors), and deburr edges.
- Installation: Clean/degrease the surface → attach the profile → press the magnet → check that it is working.
- Fine-tuning: Select the position so that the seal fits gently and does not slow down.
Tip: For non-magnetic surfaces (aluminum/wood), a self-adhesive steel adapter tape can be used – the installation remains screwless.
Practical examples (Rhine-Main)
Workshop Mainz
Steel door with 12 mm gap: magnetic door gap seal (1.25 m), cutting time 5 minutes, installation time 2 minutes – noticeably reduces drafts and dust.
Logistics Wiesbaden-East
Sectional doors: magnetic floor sealing lip + side brush strips; secure integration with closing edge safety device .
Cooling Dock Rheinhessen
Magnetic gap seals on the side and top gaps – more stable temperatures, less icing in winter operation.
FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions
Do the magnets hold permanently?
Yes, on clean steel surfaces. At the same time, the profiles can be removed non-destructively at any time for service/cleaning.
How much contact pressure is correct?
The seal should close without dragging. Test: A strip of paper can be pulled out with slight resistance.
Does this work on aluminum or wood?
With a self-adhesive steel adapter strip, yes – still screwless.
Are seals and safety sensors compatible?
Yes. Install in such a way that the optosensors/safety edges operate freely.
Maintenance?
Clean every six months, degrease the magnetic surfaces, and check the fit. Worn segments can be replaced in minutes.
