Installation of a double-leaf swing gate with a slope – precise technology with the SOMMER twist XL in Mainz-Bingen
Inclined? No problem. Double-leaf? No problem. Result? Silent, smooth operation, textbook perfect. Planning by Tormeister 24, installation by Schweighöfer Tortechnik.
1) Introduction
"Not every driveway is level – and that's precisely what makes it exciting." In Mainz-Bingen, we installed a double-leaf swing gate with an approximately 4° incline. Key components: rising hinges from our own factory and the SOMMER twist XL heavy-duty drive with soft-start/soft-start mechanism.
2) Challenge: Slope & Double Wings
- Inclination ≈ 4° → classic drives struggle under shear forces.
- Solution: Rising belts lift the wings slightly when opening – no ground contact, smooth operation.
- Fittings: custom-made, precisely aligned, centered on the drive geometry.
3) The drive: SOMMER twist XL
The twist XL is our go-to when weight, wind load, and incline come together. 24V technology, soft start/stop, and plenty of power reserves ensure quiet operation and longevity.
- For large/heavy wings up to 7 m or 1,100 kg (per wing – design according to the specific object)
- Smooth running , high self-locking, robust mechanism
- SOMloq2 wireless onboard; Smart home compatible
